Mulled Rosé



1 orange
1 bottle 2019 Edna's Rosé
375ml clear apple juice
¼ cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
4 whole cloves 2 cinnamon sticks
3 whole star anise
6 cardamom pods
125ml Cointreau
1 red apple, very thinly sliced



  1. Use a vegetable peeler to peel 4 strips of rind from orange, avoiding the white pith, then cut in half and juice half the orange. Chop the remaining orange half.
  2. Place orange rind, orange juice and chopped orange in a saucepan. Add wine, apple juice, sugar, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, star anise and cardamom. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 5 mins or until aromatic. Remove from heat.
  4. Add Cointreau and apple slices. Stir to combine. Divide among serving glasses and serve immediately.
